Gorgeous Growing Girls

Brandon and I took the girls to their well checks yesterday morning.  We were surprised at how well Britt was taking the idea that she had to get a set of shots. It turns out she must of forgotten she already turned 4 so as I was tackling the daily battle of brushing her hair, the river of tears came!!! She was so scared! This was the reaction I was expecting. (Hints why I MADE Brandon take the morning off!)

Lucky for him he got to ride in his company truck on the way to their appt since he would head to work afterwards. So lucky for ME I got to hear crying alllllllll the way to the dr's office. We got checked in and she was still trying to hold back the tears. It was unnsuccesful! They called "Brittyn & Layla Chaney." Gulp!!

Step 1: Weighing the girls.  lol (Sometimes I cry at this part too)  ;o)  Not sure if this is when Britt thought the shots occurred but you wouldn't believe the screams that came out of that girl! Brandon tried lifting her onto the scale since she wouldn't so kindly step on! Grrr! She refused! She kept holding her feet up as he picked her up. She was SO stubborn!!!! Brandon's mini me. After several attempts, we decided he would hold her then weigh himself separate. Accomplished!

Step 2: Height; she did fine on that part, although she still had a few tears left in her.

Step 3: Talk with the dr (for both girls), check heart beats, breathing, eyes, ears, etc. I think they forgot to check Brittyn's actually.....

*By now Layla is crying. A LOT! She is still getting over the croup and she was crying "Mama! Mama!" and just restless on my lap so Brandon had to take her out so I could answer the dr's questions.  Thank GOD kids have a second parent!! *huge sigh!*

Step 4: Shots!! By this point, Brittyn is totally fine. I'm sure the nurse is shocked to see how much she has settled down since she last saw her.... She took them like a champ! Cried a little after they were done. But she, I mean WE survived!!

Brandon left for work and I took the girls out for breakfast and to go pick out some surprises at the store. I know I'm a sucker.... they always get a little treat after Dr. visits. Maybe it's because my Dad always took us out for treats after our orthodontist appts? And lets face it.... all you Mom's know you've bribed your kids too!

I'm excited to see that day behind us!!

Here are their stats:

Brittyn's 4yr stats: 40lbs, 41 1/4 inches (off the charts)
Layla's 18 month stats: 25lbs, 33 1/2 inches (65% for height, 50% for weight) And 97% for the size of her head. haha Go figure!

Thank you Jesus for my healthy babies AND that the day is over!!
